I am loving my new app I got for my droid phone. I used to use a bell cycle computer attached to my bike. I never could calculate the correct milage it gave me a headache everytime to confusing. With the cycledroid I turn it on throw it in my backpack or pocket and go its smart enough not to count the time I am sitting on the side of the road catching my breathe.

For someone who rides alot it does not seem like much. A person who is two hundred pounds over weight its amazing. That is what I was today AMAZING
All Seasons Cyclist left the following comment but I accidently erased it so I copied it from my email
We all have to start somewhere! Keep riding your bike and your weight will melt away and before long you will be riding 40 or 50 miles without giving it a second thought.
After my 6th flat. I did a search on the net and found articles suggesting everything from filing the hole in the rim to making duct tape liners. So I decided to do as much of these as possible to my tire. I started with the hole in the rim, I didn’t find any kind of burr that I could feel. But none the less I filed it. Being a metalsmith I filed and sanded and made it as smooth as a babies behind. I then read an article suggesting that you can make rim liners out of either duct tape I bought new rubber ones but there was an area that was exposed. I didn’t have a roll of new duct tape available but I had a length that was wrapped around my office chair arm. So I used that I covered the exposed area. I also wrapped the stem. I am on my third ride same tire. I don’t know if its because of what I have done or because I finally got a non defective tire. Not really sure I do know I am waiting for the sun to come up so I can go for a ride.
I will be adding a stats page this next Sunday for the miles I did during the week. I am still really overweight and sometimes a 2 mile ride kills me…. Long as my numbers keep going up don’t be too cruel with the comments.
Finally I managed to get two tires that wouldn’t go flat on me it was amazing. I went on a ride and didn’t end up on the side of the road frantically pumping my tire hoping to be able to finish my ride. I have been in contact with the manufacturer of those defective tires. The representive is the most irrational person I have had the pleasure of doing business of dealing with. Here is paraphrased account of my angry emails.
ME: I have three defective tubes I want replaced.
HER: we will send you one!
ME: honestly you won’t replace all your defective products
HER: I think were being generous.
ME: Three tires are defective I want three replaced that’s fair. I am pissed off.. I use my bike as my main mode of transportation. If I need a replacement tube its six miles to the nearst place I can get a one. How hard is it get a replacement.
HER: if you have an emergency please call this number.
ME: /%-$?$$#;! !!!!! I got a different brand of replacements this is not an emergency please replace your defective tires. How hard is this???????
HER: you don’t want them now? I had them ready to send.
ME: (BANGING MY HEAD AGAINST MY DESK) Please send me the tires.
That was the last email. I don’t know what’s going on now. I do know its frustrating.
Right now I am getting ready to go for a ride I went outside amazingly after an hour long ride yesterday my new tires are full of air. I took my rims and my old liners to my angry bike guy. He looked at them said that the old liners were fine and that there was no reason for the tires to fail on my part. I had replaced the liners earlier. Hopefully I will get those replacements soon. Otherwise I might pull my hair out!
